Kuma （くま）

‘Boku wa Kuma’. This is a Japanese expression which I found while reading the blogs of others. I do not know what the writer mean by it. But I will try to write a blog with it.
I have been bothered by ‘ Kuma’. It has a lot of meanings in Japanese. One of them is an animal bear. But it has never bothered me. It is only in a zoo that I have ever seen it. Another meaning of the word is a dark place. But it has also never bothered me. I have seen and been in a lot of dark places since I was a child. I do not like it, but it has never been so bothering that I could be there. Then, what ‘Kuma’ has been bothering me? It is the bags under my eyes. They are also called ‘Kuma’ in Japanese. About 10 years ago, they were not so serious that I never cared about them. But over the years they have become more serious. In particular, the last year was the worst. They become dark as if I were a patient suffering from a serious illness. This year, the darkness has gone, and they get better.
But they are still under my eyes. They are so big that they seem to hold the whole space between my eyes and cheek bones. When I look at them in the mirror, I look a bit tired and old, disappointing me. In addition, with the bags getting bigger, my eyes started to droop. As a result, I lost my sharp eyes that I used to have.
I am also told by my wife that I have a miserable look around my eyes. It may be the time to care for my skin around my eyes with cosmetics. I also have to massage the part.

　「ぼくはくま」。これは他の人のブログを読んでいた時に見つけた表現です。ライターさんが何を意味しているのかはわかりません。でも、この表現を使ってブログを書いてみようと思います。
　ぼくは、「くま」に悩まされてきました。「くま」にはいろいろな意味があります。そのひとつが動物のクマです。でも、熊に悩まされたことはありません。また、気になったこともありません。動物園でしか熊を見たことがありません。もう一つの意味は暗い場所（曲）です。でも、これに悩まされたこともありません。子供の頃から暗い場所をたくさん見てきたし、いたこともあります。好きではありませんが、暗いところにいられないほど気になったことはありません。では、どんな「くま」に悩まされているのかというと、目元の袋です。日本語ではこれを「くま」といいます。10年ほど前は、気にするほどでもなかったのですが、数年前からひどくなってきました。特に去年は最悪でした。まるで大病を患った患者のように、「くま」が暗くなりました。今年は、その暗さは消え、良くなりました。
　でも、まだ目元にあります。「くま」が目元と頬骨の間の空間全体を覆っているほどの大きさです。鏡で見ると、ちょっと疲れて老けているように見えます。さらに、「くま」が大きくなるにつれて、目も垂れるようになりました。そのため、以前のような凛々しい目が消えてしまいました。
　妻にも「目元がみすぼらしい」と言われます。化粧品で目元をケアする時期なのかもしれません。マッサージも必要です。以上、「くま」の話でした。
