Iwanami Paperback Library & Year 2024 （岩波文庫と2024年）

I have read some in the 'Iwanami Paperback Library'. Most of them are related to geography, which I loved to study when I was young. One of them was ‘Climate’ by Tetsuro Watsuji, which impressed me the most. Before I read it, I had studied geography a lot, but it helped me to do geography with fresh eyes. It also helped me to learn history as well as geography. And I got more interested in going abroad to see the reality of each area. And I read ‘Principles of Human Geography’ by Paul Blache. I do not remember the details of the book, but it also helped me to learn geography deeper.
After I read them, I read ‘Sakoku: Japan’s Tragedy’. It also made me a lot about the history of Japan. These are the best 3 books I read in the library.
On a different note, I have watched a lot of films on Netflix. Among them is the one, ‘Sagasu’, which surprised me the most. It starred Jiro Sato, and I did not think that it would be a serious one. But it was very serious, and the star committed a murder. It was so serious and shocking that I was stunned after watching it. It has been a month since I finished watching it. But it is still in my mind, and I sometimes remember it.
Finally, I would like to say goodbye to 2024. I was faced with a series of sadness and hardship.

　「岩波文庫」をいくつか読んだことがあります。そのほとんどは、若い頃好きだった地理に関するものです。その中で一番印象に残っているのが和辻哲郎の『風土』です。この本を読む前から、地理をよく勉強していましたが、この本のおかげで新たな視点で地理を学ぶことができました。また、地理だけでなく歴史も学ぶことができました。そして、海外に行ってそれぞれの地域の現実を見てみたいと思うようになりました。その後、ブラーシュの『人文地理学原理』を読みました。詳しいことは覚えていませんが、これも地理をより深く学ぶのに役立ちました。
　それらを読んだ後、和辻の『鎖国』を読みました。この本からも日本の歴史について多くを学びました。以上が岩波文庫で読んだ本のベスト3です。
　話は変わりますが、Netflixでたくさんの映画を観ました。その中で一番驚いたのは「さがす」です。佐藤二朗が主演だったので、シリアスな作品だとは思っていませんでした。でも、とてもシリアスで、主役が殺人を犯す作品です。あまりにシリアスで衝撃的だったので、見終わった後、呆然としてしまいました。見終わってから1カ月が経ちますが、いまだに心に残っていて、時々思い出します。
　最後に、「2024年よさようなら」と言いたいです。悲しみと困難に見舞われた年でした。
