My Number Card （マイナンバーカード）
I have heard that My Number Card, a Japan’s ID card has not been used as much as the government expected. I have recently known it on the website by the Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper. That goes without saying. I do not so often see the users at healthcare facilities
I have recently come to use the card more often than before. But I only use it at the facilities and drugstores. I am still not happy with it. As usual, it does not respond quickly when I put my card on the reader. It also takes time to recognise my face. So, I see no benefit in using it. I only use it, expecting that using it may help the workers to save their time.
I have another reason for not being happy with it. I have to go to the town hall every time I have to update or change it. The other day, my card was due for an update, and I had to go to the town hall by bus. I am fed up with having to do this every five years. Why do I have to go there every 5 years? I cannot update it online. I do not understand.
I also have to go there to change my health insurance from the employee’s one to the national one. Why do I have to go?. I should be able to change it online in this day and age. I do not understand.
The government is said to have used about 16 billion yen for the My Number Card system. It has also established the Digital Agency. What are they doing now?
マイナンバーカードは、政府が期待しているほど使われていないようです。最近、朝日新聞のサイトで知りました。当然だと思います。医療機関で使っている人を見かけることはあまりありません。
ボクは、最近、このカードを使う機会が増えました。でも、医療機関とドラッグストアでしか使いません。いまだに不満はあります。相変わらず、カードをリーダーに当ててもすぐに反応しません。顔認証にも時間がかかります。使うメリットはないのですが、これで医療機関等の職員さんの時間をセーブできるかもと思って、使っています。
不満な理由は他にもあります。更新や変更のたびに役所に行かなければならないのです。先日もカードの更新時期が来て、バスでわざわざ役所に行かねばなりませんでした。5年ごとにこんなことをしなければならないなんて、うんざりです。なぜ5年ごとに行かなければならないのでしょうか？なぜオンラインで更新できないのでしょうか？ 理解できません。
更に、健康保険を被雇用者保険から国民健康保険に変更するのにも役所に行かねばなりません。なんで行かねばならないのでしょうか？理解できません。今の時代、オンラインで変更できて当然のはずです。
政府はマイナンバーカードシステムに約160億円を使ったと言われています。デジタル庁も設立されました。彼らは今、何をしているのでしょうか？
