Studying Maths (82), Coordinate Geometry（数学の勉強（82）、座標幾何）

Last week, I had learnt a lot about the coordinate geometry. I worked on the properties of the equation of a straight line, how to find a midpoint of a line segment, a gradient of a perpendicular line, an equation of a circle, and the properties of circles. These were not as difficult as expected. I enjoyed learning them. This part had more questions than usual, but I was able to have a great tie solving them. I got a better understanding of them than last year.
This week, I will learn about trigonometry. It is one of the biggest hurdles in the first part of the text. I have to brace myself to work on it.
In this part, I also find an interesting expression:

‘Well, that sure was a lot of geometry to deal with. Just make sure you’ve got all of these formulas and properties committed to memory for the exam. After all, when you play the Game of Maths, you win or you get no marks.’

In particular, I was attracted by the first sentence. It must mean that you certainly had a lot of geometry to do.’

　先週は、座標幾何について勉強しました。直線の方程式の性質、線分の中点の求め方、垂線の勾配、円の方程式、円の性質などです。思ったほど難しくなく、楽しく学べました。このパートの問題はいつもより多かったのですが、楽しみながら解けました。去年よりも理解が深まりました。
　今週は三角法を勉強します。このテキストの前半では、最大の難関の一つです。気を引き締めて取り組みます。
　このパートでも、面白い表現がありました。

「確かに、幾何についてやるべきことがたくさんありましたね。試験に向けて、これらの公式や性質をすべて記憶しておくように。結局のところ、数学ゲームは、勝たないと点数はもらえないので。」

特に、最初の文に興味を持ちました。「確かに、幾何についてすることがたくさんあったね。」という意味のはずです。
