Happiness We Can’t Buy With Money

I started singing professionally at the jazz clubs in Kansai when I was 18 years old. I was 25 when my first album was released from a major record company.

The next year, when I had my first concert tour of big concert halls, many people appeared from out of nowhere and introduced themselves as my “friends”.

The self-proclaimed friends said to me, “Why don’t you invite me to your concert? We are friends.” or “Give me a copy of your album.”
I knew some of them by face, but I was not that close to any of them.
