英語日記 No.73

Last week, I read articles mentioning that the Taliban government has banned medical schools from admitting female students. Some Afghan journalists living abroad have shared posts on X about this issue. One of them reported that medical institutions have been given just 10 days to hold final exams and will then stop providing lessons to female students. This ban will undoubtedly further restrict access to health care for Afghan women and children. I wonder why the Taliban is determined to deny women access to medical education. It is evident that this ban will have a catastrophic impact of Afghanistan's health care system. I sincerely hope the Japanese government will take a strong stance against this ban and call on the Taliban to reverse it.

Thank you for reading my diary.
