Japanese kimono
Most Japanese people don’t usually wear kimonos so often in daily life.
I think one of the reason is that kimonos are little tricky to wear.
However,we do wear kimonos on special occasions such as weddings and festivals.
I will introduce you to Japanese kimono.
The origin of Japanese kimono is said to be kosode.
There are several types of kimono, but I will introduce the difference between furisode and tomesode.
A furisode is a kimono for women who aren’t married.
A furisode has long sleeves with a length of about 1 meter.
The longer the sleeves, the most formal.
Married women wear kimonos called tomesode.
A kurotomesode, which means a black tomesode, is the most formal.
Irotimesode is not as formal as kurotomesode.
Yukata is worn for a comfortable hot summer.
A yukata is a casual kimono made from cotten.
A yukata is much lighter than a normal kimono.
Nowadays most people wear yukatas for summer festival.
Kimonos can be a from of art.
Kimono that you can enjoy the feeling of the season has one side of traditional crafts.
I think that we should inherit this beautiful culture of Japan.
