IFVI and VBA are soliciting public comments on three draft proposals.

IFVI and VBA have opened a public comment period starting on September 24th to collect feedback on three draft proposals. These drafts focus on:

  • A general methodology for impact measurement and valuation

  • A methodology addressing occupational health and safety (OHS)

  • A methodology related to water consumption.

Public input on these topics is encouraged to refine the approaches and improve their applicability in various sectors.

International Foundation for Valuing Impacts(IFVI): An independent nonprofit organization leading the development of the Impact-Weighted Accounts (IWA) framework.​

Value Balancing Alliance(VBA): A nonprofit organization comprising over 20 member companies with a shared goal of developing methods to measure and compare the value of corporate contributions to social, economic, and environmental outcomes.

As investors are calling for voluntary adoption of ISSB standards, the IFRS Foundation has published a guide for companies

At New York Climate Week, the IFRS Foundation released the " Voluntarily applying ISSB Standards—A guide for preparers  " in response to investor demands for companies to adopt ISSB standards. The purpose of this guide is to support companies in initiating the voluntary application of ISSB standards and to help them communicate their progress to investors effectively.


Launch of the Taskforce on Inequality and Social-Related Financial Disclosure (TISFD)

To raise awareness of the financial risks that global inequality poses to companies and financial institutions, a new global taskforce was launched on September 23th. The Taskforce on Inequality and Social-Related Financial Disclosure (TISFD) aims to develop a global framework for companies and financial institutions to more effectively incorporate disclosures related to the impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities associated with social issues, including inequality, into their public reporting.
