1.Why did you join beBit?
The opportunity came when I was considering a job change and was approached by a hiring agent. Among the opportunities presented, beBit stood out the most, and I felt a sense of destiny. During the interview, I spoke with Higashino-san, the head of the Software Department. Through our conversation, I felt that I would be able to work smoothly with him, and that we could create something new together.
The decisive factor was that I resonated with the company’s vision of creating a better society for end users. Previously, I worked at a medical startup because I was driven by the desire to create a world where anyone can access medical care anytime, anywhere, and to solve patients’ pain points.
2.Please tell us about the work you do at beBit
As the Administrative manager for OmniSegment, a MA tool developed by beBit TECH in Taiwan, I am responsible for business planning and promotion, as well as various related tasks. While I consider the product’s pricing and sales strategies, the actual liaison with beBit TECH is handled by my team member, Taisa.
3.What surprised you the most about beBit?
When I joined beBit and first came to the office, I was shocked by how empty it was because it was during the COVID-19 pandemic. I wondered if the office had become a dormant asset, and if everything was alright.
However, I have seen other consulting firms that also have clean and spacious offices with an occupancy rate around 20% as well.
4.Tell us one thing you like about beBit
While the standard answer might be that everyone has a user-centered mindset, what I really appreciate is that beBit is a well-known consulting company in Japan with a 24-year history.
5.Tell us what you value most when working
Speed. Since we always work as a team and never individually, I dislike the idea that someone else may have to bear the brunt because of my delays. (Although, I apologize for my speed being not as quick recently…)
6.How should members communicate when working with you?
I like plants, including houseplants, so if you talk about gardening. I can get really engaged in the conversation. I don’t have any topics in particular that should be avoided.
7.What do you do during your free time?
I spend my free time going out with my two daughters based on their requests. Even though they are not yet in elementary school, they find places they want to visit on TV or YouTube.
8.What’s something that hasn’t changed about you since you were a child?
Up to a point, my interests, concerns, aspirations, and directions don’t change much, but as soon as it gets close to the moment of decision, I tend to be easily swayed by various information and end up changing my mind.
9.What makes you the happiest? Or, tell us about when you were happiest recently
My daughters also love plants and flowers, and I feel happiest when we go to parks or gardening stores together and talk about things like, “I didn’t know this flower blooms like this “ or “I wonder why this leaf is so thick.”
10.Tell us about any challenges you would like to attempt
I would like to try my hand at agriculture, specifically the forestry industry. My major in college was forest science, and I spent much of my childhood playing in the mountains behind my home, so I feel a strong connection to this field.
Additionally, Japan’s forestry industry faces significant challenges, such as the aging workforce and an increasing number of unmanaged forests. Research has shown that unmanaged forests can have a severe negative impact on the water quality and natural environment of nearby communities, and even Tokyo.
Given my familiarity with mountains and my understanding of these issues, I believe I am well-suited to take on this challenge.
