How to Get Emergency Contraceptive Pills in Japan
In Japan, access to contraception is still different from that in other countries.
Emergency contraceptive pills (morning-after pills) require a doctor's prescription. They are not available over the counter and must be prescribed at a clinic.
When to Take It
Emergency contraceptive pills should be taken within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. The sooner you take it, the more effective it will be. Please visit a clinic as soon as possible.
How to Get a Prescription
At our clinic, you can make an appointment via LINE or by phone. Please bring your health insurance card or an ID when you visit.
Emergency contraceptive pills help prevent unintended pregnancy, but they do not guarantee 100% effectiveness. We recommend using regular contraception methods, such as birth control pills or condoms, to prevent pregnancy.
In addition to emergency contraception, our clinic also offers low-dose birth control pills, Mirena, and contraceptive implants. Please feel free to consult us.
