From Asamushi to the World: Awesome Sea’s Vision
Greetings! My name is Takuya Mikami, and I am the representative of Awesome Sea LLC. In this blog, I would like to share our journey and the initiatives we are pursuing.
From “ASAMUSHI” to “AWESOME SEA”
Let me begin by explaining the origin of our company name.
Our activities are based in Asamushi, located in Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture.
The name “Awesome Sea” was inspired by the way “Asamushi” in local dialect sounds when pronounced in English, which can be heard as “Awesome Sea.”
The Inspiration Behind Our Foundation: A Personal Story
The foundation of Awesome Sea is deeply rooted in a personal and heartfelt desire from my family.
“I cannot leave this world and my disabled daughter behind.”
I have a daughter with disabilities who cannot live independently. My dream has always been to create ancommunity in our hometown of Asamushi where people with disabilities can live with peace of mind.
This is where our journey began: to establish a place where my daughter can receive the support she needs, alongside a workplace for people like myself, who can commute from a group home. This dream is shared with my wife, who is a nurse with welfare qualifications.
What Awesome Sea Aims to Achieve
At Awesome Sea, our goal is to pioneer a model for “circular regional revitalization in coastal depopulated areas.” To this end, we operate various businesses as a regional general trading company.
Even though each business may seem small, by linking them together, we create an economic impact in Asamushi.
Currently, we are operating these businesses on our own, but we are confident that as we join hands with others, this circle of impact will grow, leading to even greater outcomes.
