When my sister-in-law passed away, I wondered if I could come back to Australia in case I go to Japan. So I researched about the travel exemption. I wasn’t sure if I could get permission, but it seemed to be difficult.

 After all, I gave up going back to Japan because it would be tough for my family if I couldn’t come back here.

However, I could attend the funeral of my sister-in-law online.

It felt a bit weird when I found that there was a live streaming service on the website of the funeral company.

I thought it was developed for people like me because of the pandemic.

At first, I didn’t feel I wanted to watch it because I thought I couldn’t have done anything but just watching and it wouldn’t be enough for her. But after all, I decided to do it. And I’m glad I saw it.
