今日のことば　”Go through the roof”

昨日、英語のスピーチクラブで教えてもらった言葉。”Go through the roof”　何かが急激に増加する、感情が急激に高まることを表すイディオム。日本語では「急騰する」「激怒する」いう意味。特に価格や感情が急上昇する場合に使うらしい。

例文：

1. 彼が好きなゲームの限定版が発売されると聞いた瞬間、彼のテンションは爆上がりした

   • He heard that the limited edition of his favorite game was coming out, and his excitement went through the roof.

2. 猫が新しいレーザーポインターを見た瞬間、喜んでリビングを全速力で走り回った。

   • As soon as the cat saw the new laser pointer, its energy went through the roof, and it started zooming around the living room.

3. 電気代の請求書を見た父の怒りは、たぶん火星まで届いた。

   • When Dad saw the electricity bill, his anger went through the roof and probably reached Mars.
