Visited bilingual Toastmasters club

Yesterday, I visited one of the Toastmasters clubs, and I want to share my thoughts about the experience.

Having lived in the US, I can speak English at a conversational level, but after returning to Japan, I had no opportunity to practice my English. So, I decided to attend a bilingual Toastmasters club.

When the meeting started, we began with self-introductions. As I listened to the other members introduce themselves, I felt like I had come to the wrong place—everyone else seemed 30 times better than me! Nonetheless, they listened to my speech warmly, and I realized it was a great environment for me to practice my English speaking skills.

After the meeting concluded, we went out for drinks. We had some fun conversations, and I learned about the history of Toastmasters. Overall, it was a valuable experience, and I’m inclined to actually join the club.
