A Unique Usage of Drones
Nowadays, we use many drones in various situations. For example, drones are used for photography, military affairs, agriculture, delivery, art, and so on. I've used drones as an artistic tool before. In fact, I've ever used drones to draw light paintings before. However, I have some ideas for using drones in unique ways. This time, I'd like to introduce one of the ideas to you.
I have an idea for using a drone for education. I guess you think that I will use a drone to teach programming. Actually, toy drones are often used for programming education lately. I agree with the idea that it's a good way to teach programming to move some things in real. It motivates many students. But my idea is not so. My idea is not for students but for teachers.
For short, I will use a drone to wake up students who fall asleep in class. I'm a teacher at a university and have some classes to teach students. For teachers, the existence of students who fall asleep in classes is extremely bad. The situation reduces our teachers' motivation heavily. Before we are teachers, we are humans. As humans, we can't stand the situation in which students fall asleep without listening to our lectures in our classes.
Anyway, how do I use a drone to wake up students in class? It's quite simple. When we teachers find a student who falls asleep in our classes, we make a drone fly to the student. What does the drone do? It does flip action over the student. If you used a drone once, you must know the sound and wind pressure of a drone. The student definitely wakes up soon if a drone flies to him or her and flips over his or her head.
In fact, I implemented the prototype system of this mechanism. But I've never used it until now. The reason why I don't use it is risk. As you know, drones are a little dangerous. The rotating wings will be a sharp cutter. They make us hurt easily. So even though I implemented it, I'm hesitant to use it in real situations. Probably, my decision is right.
