Unproductive Job
Today, there was the standard university entrance examination in Japan today. Many high school students (not boys but girls) took it at my university. As a faculty staff at my university, I often become its supervisor. I dislike it so much because it's too tedious. I think that no job is more tedious than proctors of entrance examinations. It's extremely unproductive. The proctors can't do anything except to supervise the examinations during the examinations. It's natural that the hours of university entrance examinations are long. For example, the mathematics examinations at a science and technology university are from 2 hours to 2 and a half hours. It's quite long. A long time ago, when I was a high school student, the proctors were reading books, magazines, or technical papers during the examinations. But now, such actions are strictly prohibited. If you are a proctor and do such a thing during an examination, candidates may claim you.
I want to automate proctors. The reason why I think so is that proctors are too unproductive. We should develop a mechanism to automate proctors. I always think that we should develop a micro drone like a mosquito. These micro drones watch many candidates. Monitoring cameras are not enough because their movable angles are limited. Here, I assume that nanotechnology has been advancing enough in the future. So the sound of drones can be disregarded. Then, I also assume that the cost of developing such micro (or nano) drones is quite low. My idea is to disappear proctors in future entrance examinations. In the future, candidates enter their appointed rooms at the starting time of their examinations. There are no proctors in the rooms. At a desk, there is a tablet. When the exam begins, the tablet will be turned on and examination questions will be displayed automatically, and they answer the questions. Needless to say, the tablet is disconnected from the Internet. In the room, there are many nano drones flying without seeing. If they use their smartphones for cheating, many nano drones detect it immediately. As a result, the cheating candidate's tablet will be turned off and he or she lose the right to take the examination.

This idea is still in my dream. But I expect that it will be realized in the near future.
