アート・テイタムに見出され、マイルス・デイビスが嫉妬し、キース・ジャレットやロバート・グラスパーに愛された天才ピアニスト、アーマッド・ジャマル。

今回は予定を変更し、2023年4月に亡くなられたアーマッド・ジャマルの追悼をテーマにお送りします。

晩年に近いアーマッド・ジャマルの2つの楽曲を中心に。
バリ島出身の天才少年ジョーイ・アレキサンダー。
ロバート・グラスパーがプロデュースし、ピアノを弾いたグレッチェン・パーラトのボーカル曲。
オランダ出身のフロリス・カッペイネによるアンビエントなピアノ曲など。

北海道ニセコで録音したヒバリや犬の鳴き声と、ジャズの楽曲をミックスした内容です。

Ahmad Jamal was a genius pianist who was discovered by Art Tatum, admired by Miles Davis, and loved by Keith Jarrett and Robert Glasper.

Today's broadcast is dedicated to Ahmad Jamal, who passed away in April 2023.
We will focus on two of Ahmad Jamal's songs from his later years, along with a vocal track by Gretchen Parlato, produced by Robert Glasper and featuring his piano playing. We will also feature an ambient piano piece by Floris Kappeyne, a talented musician from the Netherlands.

The program will mix jazz music with the sounds of birds and dogs recorded in Niseko, Hokkaido.
