桜の樹の下には屍体が埋まっている。Bodies are buried under the cherry tree

Every Japanese first learned English words are “This is a pen” and “ That is a book”. Then we learn the sentence "Spring has come" as one of sample of present-perfect .Finally spring has come! It’s my favorite season, even though I have pollen allergy. In Japan, plum blossoms tell us winter is over soon . And cherry blossoms announce that spring has officially arrived. The other day, I stopped by the park to see the cherry blossoms. Many people were taking a walk and having fun. Actually, the flowers are almost fully in bloom, but not enough. Next week, we should be able to see perfectly bloomed flowers. In Japan, there is a custom that is called “hanami” in spring, a bunch of Japanese people go on a picnic to see the cherry blossoms.

Cherry Blossoms aren’t the same as other flowers, and “hanami” is not just a picnic for Japanese. Japanese have special feelings toward cherry blossoms, I think. It could be similar to religion. This flower blooms for only 2weeks each year, and then they fly by. It looks like a pink storm, and tells us about “impermanence”. The concept of 'impermanence' is a unique characteristic of the Japanese concept of beauty. We often go to see these flowers at night. These are so beautiful that many Japanese would rather feel respect and fear. Some of Japanese people sometimes say “Bodies are buried under the cherry tree". This is from an old novel.

Under the cherry tree By Motojiro Kjii

”Bodies are buried under the cherry tree. You can believe me. Why do you think Cherry Blossoms bloom so beautifully? Actually, I couldn’t believe their beauty, so I had feared them for these few days. However, I finally understood. Bodies are buried under the cherry tree. You can believe me. It’s true”
