　仕事でも習い事でも、準備が必要なレベルの人にかぎってなぜか準備をしない。英語の本を読む会に参加するのに、なぜ予習をしないのか。「英語が苦手」とか言う以前に、最低限単語くらい調べておけや、といつも思う。

　I joined an online English book club recently. The organizer chooses books or articles to read. And every participant takes a turn reading aloud English sentences and translates them to Japanese. I took part in the day of the “Paddington” reading.That was the fourth time reading it for me. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of Paddington, but I can somehow manage to follow the other participants because this book is for kids. However there are so many words I don’t know that it takes a bunch of time to prepare.

　By the way, I see a guy in this club online. He seems like a very beginner reader. For example, kind of these words “bought(=past of buy) “ “I’ve= I have” “caught (past of catch) “ are basic English even for Japanese, because most Japanese had learned English at least for 3 years, but he doesn’t know the meaning, can’t read them. So he asks the organizer “ what does this word mean?” every time, every line. Actually, he doesn't read by himself, the organizer does it, instead. 
　I don't criticize him, of course. It's none of my business. He might have only forgotten. I just wonder that why he doesn’t prepare.　"He is the one who needs preparation". He always say “ I’ve not been good at English since I was a student” , but I don’t think so. He just does nothing . He might be busy, but I wonder if he couldn’t go home early even only the day before, and I’m just wondering if he gets something from this time. Actually I don’t know why I’m annoyed a little with him despite it being none of my business.

数日だけ咲いて、嵐のように散ってしまう桜。「終わり方の美」に強いシンパシーを感じるのは、日本人特有の美意識だろう。
