I've been working until now. I enjoy working but I'd like to take a rest. I want to spend time with my family. I'll have a day off when I can. It's a bit warm today so I'm happy. Cherry blossoms are blooming recently. I'd like to go Hanami, seeing cherry blossoms but I think I can't. My wife had a plan last week so we didn't have chance. This week, I hope the flowers will linger.
I read some articles about swap spread. It is the gap between swap rate and treasury yield. When you use OIS, or SOFR as the swap rate, swap spread is below zero. It means the swap rate is lower than treasury yield. Both of them are risk free rate, so I wonder why the difference occurs. One reason is that demand and supply of treasury is not balanced. If banks can buy whatever they want, treasury would be bought and the yield would be lower. However, many countries mandate Basel III regulation to banks. Therefore they have to manage their balance sheet in order to refrain from holding too many risk assets.
