Communication 5/26
Communication with others is very difficult. I’m working for Japanese company but I’m in foreign country. I have to communicate with local people and Japanese. Communication with local people is difficult because I need to use English. I’m Japanese native and it’s my first time to live in foreign country. Therefore, it’s very difficult to communicate correctly.
However, it is not only English problem. Communication with Japanese is also very tough because we can’t talk easily. There is time difference and I’m far from Japan physically. I have to use e-mail and telephone. I think the information technology is splendid and our lives are getting convenient more and more. In many cases, we can communicate with others having no problem, but sometimes we have to convey complicated information. It is easier in direct communication rather than indirect one. We have to thing about appropriate ways to convey. We can preserve information in the mail box when we use e-mail. We can also use e-mail when we have to clarify something in the sentences. We can consider what to tell and how to write for a long time. However, when we are mad, we don’t have to use e-mail. The sentences which we write when we are angry may break a relationship with someone. Some people says “Don’t send a e-mail at night.” On the other hand, when we don’t have enough time, we have to call. If the person who we want to contact with doesn’t check his e-mail box, he never notice it. In that case, we have to call him. If you want to keep/make good relationship with someone, I think telephone is better than e-mail. E-mail sometimes makes someone feel monotonous.
Anyway it is very useful to think and convey logically. If we talk illogical things, the person who listens to me may be confused. Even if we speak native language, we sometimes can’t convey what we think. How do you convey that in foreign language?
I thought I have to learn how to think and speak logically.
