Day Sixteen: The truth about Gatsby

I started reading Chapter 6.

I found out a new truth.
Gatsby’s real name was James Gatz.
He had changed it at the age of seventeen because he wanted to change himself.

The truth about Gatsby's past was revealed.
His parents were lazy, unsuccessful farmers, and in his head he never thought of them as his parents at all.
He had been making his way alone along the south shore of Lake Superior, fishing or doing any other work.
At the age of 17, he met Dan Cody, the owner of a wonderful yacht.
Cody was fifty years old at that time, and extremely wealthy.
He loved Gatsby and employed him for 5 years, but he died.
This was Gatsby's true past.

I wonder if Gatsby's past told in the previous drive scene was a lie.
I'm getting confused!

The scene changed to Gatsby's party on one Sunday.
Tom came there that day!

Can Tom and Gatsby get along?
See you tomorrow!
