TOEIC SPEAKING Part 2 Recap
This past week, I have been doing a couple of Instagram Live sessions about the TOEIC SPEAKING test. For those of you who watched my live sessions, thank you :) For those who missed out (or those who want to review), here I have provided a little recap of my sessions. I hope this information will help you out in some way.
Today, I will be sharing some tips for Part 2- Describe a Picture.
Below is the picture that I used as a sample during my live session.
Here are the points I covered in my Instagram Live Session:
1 question; preparation time: 45 seconds, speaking time: 45 seconds.
A picture is given, and the test-taker must describe the picture as much as they can. This section is graded on grammar, word choice, and consistency, as well as pronunciation, intonation, and accent.
★How to get a full score【
This is a picture of ~.
【例】This is a picture of a street corner. / This is a picture of a city. / This is a picture of a crosswalk. / This is a picture of New York City.
Step 2:
In the background, I can see ~. / In the foreground, there is/are ~.
On the left, there is/are ~. / On the right, I can see ~.
On the top (of the picture), I can see ~. / On the bottom, there is/are ~.
In the background, I can see a tall building. In the foreground, I can see three people. / On the top of the picture, I can see a street sign. On the bottom, there are three people standing.
The man on the left is wearing a jacket. He is also wearing glasses. He seems to be pointing somewhere/giving directions. The woman (in the middle) is wearing a black jacket. She is holding a red/brown bag. She looks like she has short hair. The person on the right is wearing a hoodie. I can also see a bus on the right of the picture.
Office vocabulary-Stationary (stapler, hole puncher, ruler, compass, scotch tape, glue, etc.), coffee machine, fax machine, copier, meeting room, etc.
・House-Furniture-related words, such as refrigerator, oven, rice cooker, skillet, humidifier, etc.
・Streets-crosswalk, intersection, skyscrapers, street sign, traffic light, pedestrian bridge, landmark, etc.
Step 4:
I think it's winter because the people are wearing jackets/heavily dressed. I wish I was there because I love the city.
This is a picture of a street corner in the city. In the background, I can see some buildings. In the foreground, I can see three people. I think it is winter because everyone is heavily dressed.

That's it for Part 2! In my next Instagram Live session, I will be moving on to Part 3- Respond to Questions. Although I will be posting the major points of each speaking section, it would probably be best if you tune in to my further live sessions; I hope to be able to answer any questions you may have on demand :)
