バーニー·サンダース米上院議員は素晴らしい政治家だ。 このような政治家が多くなることを願う。
彼はユダヤ人の血筋だ。 イスラエルとパレスチナ戦争でイスラエルを批判するのは、もしかしたら負担になるかもしれない。 いくら自分の意見が正しくても、大多数の流れの中で強い反対を示すことは容易ではない。 特に彼はユダヤ人だ。 米国でユダヤ人の数は多くないが、パワーは想像を超える。 そのため、オバマ前大統領やビル·ゲイツも、公に強くイスラエルを批判できずにいる。
しかし、サンダース氏はネタニヤフ·イスラエル首相を「戦争犯罪者」と呼び、責任を追及している。 ガザ地区の飢えと傷を無視するネタニヤフ政権に強い批判ができる彼の勇気に賛辞を送る。
聖書を見れば、悔い改めよという神様の言葉を伝える預言者たちをイスラエルの政治家と宗教家は迫害した。 結局、神様の審判があり、その被害はそのまま市民に伝えられた。 イスラエル内部でもネタニヤフ政権に反対する市民の抵抗がある。 ネタニヤフは戦争が終わった後でも責任を問わなければならないと思う。
サンダースは気候変動に関するメッセージも強調し続けている。 経験できなかった蒸し暑さが続いており、気候危機はますます私たちに近づいている。 企業が利潤追求だけに目がくらみ、気候変化に積極的に対応できない点を指摘している。
また、十分な生活が不可能な最低賃金問題、経済的破綻を引き起こす医療費問題、製薬会社の暴利問題など庶民と人類のための彼の主張は共感できるに十分だ。
彼の問題意識はあまりにも利他的だ。 上院議員として十分な待遇を受けて暮らすことができるにもかかわらず、問題点を提起して変化を要求する。 強者たちが支配する現実で強者たちに要求をしている。 普通の人は強者の前で弱くなる。 もしかしたら庶民だからそうするしかないかもしれない。 しかし、サンダースはいわば、上院議員という強者でありながら、庶民ができない強者との戦いを代わりにしてくれる。 それで私たちはサンダースのような人物がより多くなることを切実に望んでいる。
米国は外国人から見て最も先進的な国と考えられてきた。 しかし、米国内の資本主義の基本的な土台は非常に強く、サンダースのような政治家が主流になれない現実的な壁も感じられる。
極端な資本主義や極端な米国優先主義が頭をもたげる状況で、さらにサンダースのような政治家の活躍が大きくならなければならない時代だという気がする。 フランスの選挙も極右が大きくリードし、国民が問題点を見抜いて中道と左派に力を与えたように、米国も適切な調和が必要な時期だ。（Qの希望）
Bernie Sanders, a United States Senator, is an admirable politician. I hope more politicians like him emerge. He is of Jewish descent, and it might be challenging for him to criticize Israel in the Israel-Palestine conflict. No matter how correct one's opinions are, it is not easy to express strong opposition against the mainstream. Especially considering he is Jewish, the number of Jews in America is not large, but their power is beyond imagination. As a result, even former President Obama and Bill Gates cannot openly and strongly criticize Israel.
However, Sanders calls Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu a war criminal and holds him accountable. I commend his courage to strongly criticize Netanyahu's regime for ignoring the hunger and suffering in the Gaza Strip. In the Bible, the prophets who delivered God's message to repent were persecuted by Israel's politicians and religious leaders. Eventually, God's judgment came, and the citizens bore the brunt of it. Even within Israel, there is resistance from citizens opposing Netanyahu's regime. I believe Netanyahu should be held accountable even after the war ends.
Sanders also continues to emphasize the message about climate change. Unprecedented heat waves are occurring, and the climate crisis is gradually approaching us. He points out that corporations are too focused on profit to actively respond to climate change. Furthermore, his advocacy for issues such as the insufficiency of minimum wage for a decent living, the catastrophic cost of healthcare, and the excessive profits of pharmaceutical companies resonates with the public.
His awareness of these issues is remarkably altruistic. Despite being able to live comfortably as a senator, he raises these issues and demands change. In a reality dominated by the powerful, he makes demands on the powerful. Ordinary people tend to weaken before the powerful, perhaps because they are ordinary citizens. However, Sanders, being a senator and therefore powerful himself, fights against the powerful on behalf of the ordinary people. This is why we desperately hope for more individuals like Sanders.
The United States has been viewed as the most advanced country by foreigners. However, the fundamental basis of capitalism in the U.S. is very strong, and there is a realistic barrier preventing politicians like Sanders from becoming mainstream. The rise of extreme capitalism and extreme America-first policies suggests that it is an era where the role of politicians like Sanders needs to grow. Just as in the French election, where the far right led strongly but the public realized the issues and supported centrists and the left, the U.S. also needs appropriate balance.(Q's hope)
