~感想~
あーでもない、こーでもないと色んなことを思い付いた時に書けるようように手書きでノートに書いて翻訳をするのが好きです。こちらはその一部。結婚指輪にも選ばれるダイヤモンドリング。そこにどんな意味があるのかと再度調べてみたら、eternal (永遠)、promise (約束)、commitment (献身、責任)、emblem of love (愛の象徴) などがあったので、詩の中のどこかで使えるかもしれないと絵にしてみたり…
Youtubeなどを観ればすでに日本語曲の英訳は存在するけど、自分なりに英訳をしてみようかなと思い立ってから、最初に翻訳する曲は『Diamond Sky』しかないなと即決でした。先月ソウルで行われたアンコンでも日本語で歌ってくれて、シャヲルとのたくさんの想いを共有する大切な1曲だと思っています。
翻訳 (特に歌詞の翻訳) は100人いれば100通りの翻訳の仕方があって正解がないもの。日→英翻訳を専門的に勉強したわけではないし、職業としての翻訳家でもないので100%自信はあるのか？と聞かれたらありませんが、それでもSHINeeのことを想いながら、歌う姿を思い浮かべながら、じっくり読みこんで訳す時間が大好きです。次は『Colors of the season』かなと思い、少し訳し始めたものの難しい (簡単ではない) ！焦らずゆっくり行きます～。
