サッカーと人種

大げさなタイトルですが、先日あったもやもやエピソードを紹介するだけです。

私が所属しているサッカーチームはホーチミン拠点の日本人チームです。部員50人ぐらいでほぼ日本人、外国人はベトナム人2人とフランス人1人だけ。

日曜日の試合の後に、会場近くでよく散歩をしていると言うガーナとナイジェリアのハーフから「チームに入れてくれ」と言われたので、FB交換。

うちの代表に相談すると「基本うちは日本人のためのチーム」なので、断るように言われました。

四男“Hi, so sorry for my ignorance, but actually our team is principally only for Japanese. Some exceptions have been applied to 2 Vietnamese for some external relations like booking pitches etc. and to French who’s enthusiastic to learn about Japanese culture and has no problem in interacting with us in flowing Japanese. So sorry that we can’t invite you but I try to find another team for you if you want”

すぐに返信を用意: “Pls make sure that it’s never racism. You know every professional football league has regulation on expat players, in order to foster players from its own country. This is absolutely not discrimination, just their principal, purpose, and mission of the league. Our team has a mission as well, for the prosperity of Japanese community in Saigon. That’s it. Don’t feel offended. Of course football is for everyone. Hope to see you on the pitch. Cheers”

これって人種差別ですか？おれがベトナムの書記長選挙立候補できなかったら差別ですか？30年近く日本に住んでたんで分かりません。
