2023年9月録音。叔母から、生前に祖父が人生について語る動画をもらっていて、それをどうにか音楽にできないかと試行錯誤したものです。その動画にはテレビの音や、相槌をする家族の声が含まれていて、なんとか祖父の声だけにしたく、iZotope RX 10などを使って抽出しました。ピアノで祖父の声に伴奏をつけることにし、それ以外の音を加えることは最小限にとどめています。特に苦労した曲で、いくつものバージョンをつくったのですが、今回のアルバムに収録したものが、ピアノの演奏も祖父の声の音質もベストです。

Recorded in September 2023. My aunt had given me videos of my grandfather talking about his life before he died, and I used to experiment with trying to find a way to turn them into music. The video included the sound of the TV and the voices of family members chiding, but I wanted to keep just my grandfather's voice, so I used iZotope RX 10 to extract it. I decided to play the piano to accompany my grandfather's voice, and kept the addition of other sounds to a minimum. It was a particularly difficult song, and I made several versions of it, but the one included in this album is the best in both the piano performance and the sound quality of my grandfather's voice.
