The life of Tomcat Bucho 9 Bucho’s letter

Bucho is writing a letter.
He is scratching the paper with his sharp, knife-like nails, which he has never let me clip.

"Dear Mejiro, brown-eared bulbuls, titmice, and other small birds,

I've only seen you a few times since spring began, but how have you been lately?

The Yusura plums will soon be ripe.
There are only a limited number of plums, so if you don't come early, they will be gone.
After the fun plum festival, I, Fukuchiyo (Bucho's official name), will sing a song.
Please come and see for yourself.

Fukuchiyo”

He wakes up in the morning. Bucho's eyes light up as he runs to the living room and clings to the glass door, waiting for any little birds to come.

One morning, a big, pitch black bird arrived with its lover. It was a crow.

"I read the letter. This seems like a good place for a date."

A pair of crows come every day and are busy singing courtship songs and dancing.

Bucho watches them. Even though they are crows, they are still birds.
Bucho doesn't sing cluttering songs, but he still has fun every day.
