The life of Tomcat Bucho 10 Bucho gets a present
One morning, I woke up to find a mouse in my sleep. A small, plump, grey mouse curled up on the sheets. At first, I thought it was one of the mouse toys that Boocho always plays with.
When Bucho noticed the mouse and climbed onto the bed, the mouse ran away. It was a real mouse.
Boocho's eyes lit up as he saw his first real mouse, and he jumped on it. He then went to the living room holding it in his mouth so as not to hurt it, but my husband found him. The mouse was safely rescued by my husband without injury and released into the garden.
Boocho was disappointed.
But where did that mouse come from?
Shimao may have caught a mouse for Bucho while out for a walk in the middle of the night. Come to think of it, Shimao caught a mouse this spring as well. It was rescued before Bucho saw it and released into the garden. It was just around Bucho's birthday.
Shimao is an old cat who turned 12 this spring. Meanwhile, Bucho is a shiny young cat who is only 18 months old. Naturally, there is a certain distance between Bucho and Shimao. They are not close enough to sleep together. Still, when Bucho goes to the vet, Shimao gets worried and calls out to him in a voice that sounds like a mother cat calling to her kitten. Also, when Shimao goes out for a walk and doesn't come back for a while, Bucho runs around panicking, wondering when he'll come back.
It's an interesting relationship.
