The life of Tomcat Bucho 15 Boocho's Mother

Since I adopted Bucho, I have been delivering dry food and water to his mother's bush on the trail every day. It's a way of thanking her for giving me Bucho. Sometimes Bucho's mother is there, sometimes she's not. Sometimes Bucho's cousins and aunties show up.

The other day, Bucho's mother came out and handed me some mountain laurel seeds. She said that there was a video letter to Bucho recorded in it.

"Ahem (troubled face). I wonder if this is really going to be recorded (the mother's face is shown in close-up).

Fukuchiyo-san (straightening up and calling out to him by Bucho’s real name) ,

Since I said goodbye to you, many suns have come out and set. This is also second cold winter. But I have never forgotten you. I have given birth to many kittens, but you were my last child.

That's because shortly afterwards, some humans came and got me neutered. They put me in a cage and took me to the hospital. I was nervous because I didn't know what they were going to do to me. I heard you were neutered too, so that must have been scary. Apart from the fear, I was relieved because I didn't have to raise any more kittens.

Fukuchiyo-san,

Do you get along well with your human family and their cat? Do you listen to your human father and mother and are you a good cat?

When you were an infant, you were really restless and always running around. You were also clumsy, so I was worried about whether you could survive in the harsh environment outside. After thinking about it overnight, I decided to leave you in the care of humans.

I thought it would be best for you to become a house cat and live safely in the home.

The next day, since you still couldn't see very well, I took you out into the bush so that people walking along the trail could find you. Lots of people passed by, but most just thought you were cute and walked right by.

Some of them think, Oh my goodness, it is so small, there is no way it can survive like this, I want to help them, but they are unable to make a decision.

So the first day was a failure. On the second day, a young human woman with a dog touched you. And then, the person who would become your future owner appeared. The young woman said she couldn't keep the cat because she had a dog, so the person said, "Then I'll keep it."

You stumbled over to the person's feet.

You were tiny and wrapped up in a red cardigan, and were carried away by a human. I watched you go away from behind a bush.

Fukuchiyo-san,
I hear you're still as clumsy as ever. Apparently you've fallen into the bath twice so far. In times like these, please stay calm and collected.

Please listen carefully to what your human father and mother say, and become a good house cat. You must not, under any circumstances, hit humans or the resident cat, Shimao, with your clawed front paws. That's really not okay. Please respect Shimao, because he has accepted a clumsy cat like you into his family.

Be happy."
