The life of Tomcat Bucho 14 Bucho gets his own heater

As winter deepened, it got colder and colder. At night, I tried to lead Bucho to my husband's room to open the cat door for Shimao, but Bucho barricaded himself in the top of the closet in my room. I guessed that Bucho barricaded himself in a high place because I had been using an oil-free heater in my room all afternoon and there was warm air there.

So we decided to put an oil-free heater in my husband's room as well.

Just before the end of the year, I purchased an oil-free heater, exactly the same as the one in my room, from an online store and had it delivered.

I hoped that this would allow me to spend the New Year holidays in peace without having to be bothered by Bucho's night-time movements.

But expectations are always dashed.

Oil-free heaters are not an instant fix. They do heat up a room gradually, but it takes time. What's more, we had to rearrange the furniture in my husband's room to fit it in.

Bucho didn't like the way the furniture had been moved, and he didn't like that the room wasn't warming up right away, so he started refusing to move from his favorite spot in the attic, even with his favorite cat toy.

There's no other way. As a last resort, my husband steps in.

Bucho loves men. He listens to what the male veterinarian says, as I experienced during the castration surgery. He also gets along well with my husband at home.

So when I fail to lure Bucho out, I ask my husband to come and pick him up. He uses Bucho's favorite stuffed animal to attract Bucho's attention and lure him out of the storage closet. This usually works.

Moving Bucho around still took just as much time and effort as it did before we got the oil-free heater.
